Drawing is the foundation for all visual art work. Its importance in one’s ability to paint or create digitally cannot be overstated. In this 5-week online class, you will learn the step-by-step process of working on drawings. This foundational class will give you very important skills needed for working on a range of projects from sketching and drawings as a preparation for painting and for drawing as independent artwork.
Students will be taken through basic drawing techniques, materials, fundamentals of perspective, and composition. You will practice your new skills with projects every week with guidance and explanation from Zufar Bikbov. Works of students will be presented and discussed weekly in a group during online sessions so everyone can learn from the critique sessions.
This class is intended for anyone who is unsure about how to start drawing and want an efficient and effective way to achieve a quality level of work and/or to take intermediate classes. This online class is also designed to help you make drawing a regular habit so you can work on your skills independently after class is over. Recording of video lessons will be available for an extra 2 weeks after the end of the course.
The emphasis in this class is on landscape drawing, however these skills can be used on any drawing that you create, from still-life to architecture and animals.
The class will provide recorded video demonstrations and group critiques weekly in a zoom format. Expect to spend 5 to 10 hours each week practicing your drawing in this intensive and very effective class.
