Topography of the Human Figure
This course studies and portrays the human figure as an analogy to the natural landscape. The student will draw from the reclined and foreshortened figure model with the emphasize and observation of changing planes, creating space and distance as some features of the human body come forward and some recede, much the way rolling landscape does. Proportion, shape, value and edges with be examined as carefully observed and measured draftsmanship is executed. The course will be of value to any genre as the student's observational skills are heightened, drawing is improved and a sense of space is understood. It is a critical skill set for understanding and portraying the landscape.
